Barbara Jean Ansley was born in Fort Myers, Florida on December 6, 1949. She graduated from Fort Myers Senior High School and earned a B. A. in business from Stetson University in Deland, Florida. She was a Certified Public Accountant and spent most of her career at Macmillan, Unruh and Davis. She retired about 15 years ago.

Barbara lived and enjoyed life to its fullest. She had many interests and talents. She traveled extensively, visiting every continent except Antarctica and almost every state. She was a long term member of the Fort Lauderdale Orchid Society. She was an avid collector of fine art and antiques. She was an extremely talented and skilled seamstress, delighting in making things for others that captured their particular interests and personalities.

Although she never married or had children, family was central to Barbara's life. She was a long time member and never missed a meeting of the Ansley Family Reunion. The loves of her life were her niece Stephanie Letzler; and nephews David Letzler and his wife Katie Bram, and Peter Letzler and his wife Jacalyn. She doted on the other six members of the extended Letzler family next generation and considered them her nieces and nephews as well. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Letzler and her husband Stephen.

During her life Barbara touched many hearts. She will be remembered for her intellect, charm, graciousness, generosity, adventurous spirit, and reserved but sly sense of humor.

She was cremated. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
